The Stevens Center for Innovation in Finance will welcome Dr. Heath P. Tarbert, president at Circle, to Wharton as part of the FinTech Lecture Series. Circle is a global financial technology firm that enables businesses of all sizes to harness the power of stablecoins and public blockchains for payments and commerce. Prior to joining Circle, Dr. Tarbert was Chief Legal Officer of Citadel Securities, served as the 14th Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for International Markets and Development. He is also a Distinguished Policy Fellow at, and prior graduate of, Penn Law (JD '01, SJD '02) where he took courses in the Wharton MBA program during his time here.
Dr. Tarbert will deliver a short presentation entitled “The Dollar’s Digital Future (and Why It Matters)” to discuss stablecoins, the ongoing digitization of the dollar, regulatory developments, and the impact that these technological advances will have on the economy and your careers.
